DublinTown Welcomes UEFA Decision to Award Euro 2020 Matches to Dublin   

DublinTown, the collective of 2,500 businesses in Dublin city centre, today welcomed the announcement made by UEFA that Dublin is will host three group games and a knock out match during the Euro 2020 competition.

DublinTown believes that UEFA’s decision reflects not only the good work of the FAI, Dublin City Council and the Aviva stadium but is also a vote of confidence in the city’s ability to host world class events.

Richard Guiney, CEO of DublinTown said, “This event will deliver a significant economic boost to the city in advance of and during the competition.  We’d like to congratulate the FAI and Dublin City Council on their efforts to bring the Euro 2020 to Dublin. We were delighted to be a part of the Euro 2020 bid processes.  It was pleasing to hear UEFA’s positive comments about Dublin’s transport system and the quality of our hospitality offering where great efforts have been made in the past couple of years. The businesses of DublinTown pledged their full support to the bid and will deliver on that pledge by creating a welcoming environment for all visitors during the event. We have also pledged our DublinTown Ambassadors to assists all visitors in town when they arrive, helping them get the most of their stay in Dublin.”
