Purple Flag

Following the announcement that Dublin City Centre and the town of Ennis in Co Clare have become the first places in the Republic of Ireland to receive the prestigious, international Purple Flag award, Dublin City BID hosted a conference to discuss and debate how we successfully manage the evening experience in our city and town centres. On Tuesday 19th of February 2013, people from around the country gathered in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, located in the heart of Dublin’s Purple Flag Zone, to discuss the importance of proactive town centre management.

In July of 2015 Dublin was successful in renewing the Purple Flag status after the second independent assessment. Purple Flag is a collaborative initiative between DublinTown, Dublin City Council, An Garda Siochána, Fáilte Ireland and local businesses.
