Safety
We work with all city stakeholders to develop long term, practical solutions that address negative perceptions of safety.
We represent city businesses on safety issues at both local and national levels, while helping to implement practical measures that support businesses in their day to day operations.
Being a Voice for Business
We represent the businesses of the city on city and national safety forums such as the Local Community Safety Partnerships, Drug and Alcohol Task force as well as represnting city businesses on the Taoiseach’s task force for Dublin.
Research
DublinTown carries out regular research with residents of the Greater Dublin Area to track perceptions of safety for the city centre. This research provides important data in advocating for additional resources for the city, including Garda numbers.
Community Safety Warden Scheme
DublinTown, working with the Local Community Safety Partnership, has operated a Community Safety Warden scheme on the city’s northside since 2023. Safety Wardens provide a liaison between social services, the public, and local businesses and help address negative perceptions of safety.
Improved Lighting & Gating Problematic Areas
We have invested in improving lighting in the city centre from floodlighting to attractive feature and festoon lighting. We have also gated and managed problematic laneways that were prone to antisocial behaviour.
